My responsibility as a teacher is to teach your child the language of music. I commit to being prepared each lesson to give your child quality instruction based on his/her unique needs.
The responsibility of the student is to come to each lesson on time, prepared with the materials he/she needs, and ready to learn. Assignments should have been completed prior to the lesson in order to progress as a musician.
Additional Policies:
PAYMENT
We miss about 4 lessons per year for holidays. That leaves 48 lessons per year, an average of 4 per month. Instead of paying more on the 5-lesson months and less on the 3-lesson months, you just pay the same amount every month and it all evens out.
Payment is due by the first lesson of the month. No refunds will be issued. I will reimburse through lesson credits only.
I accept payment via Venmo @heather-jones-63
CANCELLATION
Lessons cancelled with a 24 hour notice, or cancelled by me, will be made up at a later time. Make-up lessons are offered on Friday afternoons. No reimbursement will be made on lessons cancelled less than 24 hours before the scheduled lesson (emergencies and illness excluded). In the event that a student cannot make it to their scheduled lesson in person, the student may choose to have an online lesson instead. Any lesson credits must be made up within the month they were missed.
PERFORMANCES
We have a spring recital and a fall recital each year. It is expected that the student will perform in each recital and prepare accordingly.
SUPPLIES
Students are expected to bring all materials to each lesson (metronome excluded). I recommend getting an instrument through Summerhays Music http://www.summerhaysmusic.com/rental-programs/ or Riverton Music https://www.rivertonmusic.com/instrument-rentals-summary.
PRACTICE TIME
Successfully learning an instrument requires practice time at home between lessons. Students are required to practice 5-6 days a week. The amount of time spent practicing each day will be determined based on the student's level.
